How To Write A Review For Your Wedding Vendors

There is nothing more comforting to future brides and grooms than hearing from past couples who have hired a vendors they are considering. Sharing your experience could be just the thing a bride and groom need to hear to help a vendor stand out among the multitudes of talented business owners in their area. Sitting down to write a review can seem like a daunting task but it is actually a simple process!

We wanted to share an easy process to help think through a few questions that might help you figure out what to include in your review. These questions are specific to brides who have hired Lara and I, but can be generalized for most vendors!

Thought Prompting Questions

-What stood out to you the most about Lara and I as your photographers on your wedding day?

-How did we make your feel throughout the day?

-What did your bridal party and family think about us?

-How did we co-operate with other vendors?

-How did you feel during portraits?

-Did we laugh together?

-Why should other Brides and Grooms hire us?

-How helpful were we in the planning process?

-Did you feel like we helped make your wedding day better?

I’d encourage you to write/type out the answers the these questions, by the time you are finished, you will have several answers that you can begin to use to form a review! These questions simply help you think through your experience with a vendor.

5 Additional Tips To Keep In Mind

Be Timely
Prioritize a time to sit down as a couple to write vendor reviews while the details are fresh in your mind—that way, you can include as much information as possible (and finally check this task off your to-do list). If you put it off it most likely won’t happen!

Be Specific
When it comes to reviews, being specific about what you loved will help paint a clearer picture about what you loved about your vendors.

Be Thoughtful
An extension of being specific, this is a reminder to put real thought into your comments. Your vendors worked hard to make your wedding incredible, putting some effort into your review will mean the world to them.

Be Concise
This tip will be music to your ears: Thoughtfulness shouldn’t be mistaken for wordiness. If you make sure to touch on the main points, your reviews don’t have to be that long. Six to Eight Sentences should be enough to express how your vendors performed.

Be Honest
Honesty is key—otherwise, what’s the point of writing reviews at all? Nothing beats a glowing review that’s 100 percent genuine.

Review Example

Here is an example of a review that Lara and I received from one of our couples earlier this year! In 8 sentences, Anne and Guy incorporated all 5 of the tips I listed above. I hope this will help give you an idea of what a thoughtful review looks like!

“Wow wow wow we cannot recommend Chris and Lara highly enough. They were the perfect pair for capturing our day. With all the changes and craziness of the pandemic, they made things as smooth and stress-free as possible. They did a great job of getting to know us and from that, capturing the parts of the day that were most important to us! Looking through the pictures afterward I was amazed at the photos Chris captured that we had talked about a year ago and I hadn’t even remembered to ask for! We both have big families and Chris was not shy about getting everyone’s attention and directing the crowd while keeping things fun! We had the best day of our lives and receiving BEAUTIFUL pictures just two weeks later was the best gift. Overall, we experienced great communication, professionalism, friendliness, and amazing talent working with Chris.”
